History

Nanoose Place opened in June of 1992 under the leadership of the Nanoose Bay Lions with the support of the then District Regional Director, George Holme.

The community also played a large part in raising funds through grants and singular donations towards the constructruction of Nanoose Place.

Nanoose Place is centered amongst Jack Bagley Field, Nanoose Bay Elementary School and the Red Gap Shopping Centre. It is truly the heartbeat of the Community.

Administered by the non-profit society Nanoose Bay Activities and Recreation Society (NBARS), it is overseen by a Board of Directors and two part-time staff members.   NBARS is a registered Canadian charity #132305749RR0001.

In the year of the pandemic, 2020, the long-time manager of 23 years, Eve Flynn, retired. Eve had a great part in keeping the ship sailing forward with many quality improvements.

Thank you Eve
