Nanoose Place Community Centre has been a going concern in the community since 1992.

The Nanoose Bay Lions invested a huge amount of their time and money to build the current centre and the Regional District of Nanaimo provided the land and some initial funding.

Operated and managed by Nanoose Bay Activities and Recreation Society (NBARS) - Nanoose Place does not receive ongoing funding from any level of government.

Now thirty years old, the buildings are in need of major repairs and upgrades.

To ensure that the 1,000 people who pass through the doors each week can continue to enjoy activities within the centre - NBARS must raise over $500,000 over the next five years.

Tax Receipt for Your Donation

There are approximately 7,000 residents of Nanoose Bay (6,700 in the 2020 census). If each resident contributed just $10 each, we would be 2/3 of the way to achieving our goal of $100,000 for 2023/24.

NBARS is a registered Canadian charity #132305749RR0001. Tax receipts are availabe for donations $20 or over. If you prefer to donate cash or cheque - please come to the office of the hall any weekday morning. Otherwise, click below to donate online (and receive your receipt immediately).
